We are constantly upgrading many things in our lives; how about upgrading ourselves?
Do you ever offer your opinion on situations, believing you’re helping? Uninvited advice and harsh words can be like knives. The thing is, knives are for cutting and dividing, not stitching, which should be our main objective. Not to mention, we likely don’t even recognize the different aspects of our own lives that may need the attention of a knife. We are habitually looking without; it is time we looked within. We all have our own opinions about situations that are extremely stressful and upsetting to us. Yet, what one person deems stressful and upsetting, another person deals with it effortlessly! It is not always the situations that are stressful, but our own inability to manage them. We are on this earth to experience God’s best life for us, but we often allow ourselves to be distracted by other things, including the lives and misdeeds of others. There are likely behaviors in our lives that are controlling us in ways that God never intended. Just think about your day and the things that have control over you or your mind. It is entirely possible that your stronghold has become such an ordinary fixture in your life that you don’t even recognize it anymore. Take some time to sit, think, and pray. Then, write down the things that you’ve allowed to have power over your life and wellbeing. We will all probably see many compulsions that we’re enslaved to. When we recognize areas of our lives that need to be submitted to God, we can regain control of our own bodies and minds. Let us strive to get this earthly, human experience right. Let us strive daily to become better versions of ourselves. Let us strive for the joy, peace, and prosperity that are available to us. Let us continuously remind ourselves to extend love, kindness, and understanding towards one another. When we do that, it is impossible for us to cut and divide. We can view life based upon our own individual experiences rather than attempt to "remove the speck" from other people’s lives. We need self-examination in order to combat the spiritual deception running rampant in the world. It is time to upgrade ourselves!
Only conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or remain absent, I will hear of you that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel...
1 Corinthians 9:24
Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but only one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may win.
